Motivation Monday – Single Tasking

Productivity isn’t about how busy we are, or how fast we work—it’s about how much we accomplish. That’s what we’re left with at the end of the day. Check out the linked article then how it relates to our gym life.

I find myself on a daily basis starting one thing and 1 minute later doing something else with this process carrying on with 5 more tasks. If I get all the tasks done I feel like my brain has just been put through a washing machine. Invariably it takes far longer to do the original task than I wanted and it’s never done as well as it could have been.

Focussing on one thing at a time is a great way to keep a healthy mind and be more productive. The goals board has been designed to reflect this. Have one thing on your mind for outside of class, accept that for 1-2 months your main priority is on accomplishing the goal, if you complete it before the time well done! Lets then pick another one and crack on. This will hopefully help deal with the sometimes overwhelming number of skills/strengths/weaknesses you ‘need’ to work on. A healthy dose of patience and consistent work will allow you to achieve far more than trying to do everything all at once and as a results not doing anything at all outside of what we do in class.
